Nursery.

We find out Thursday (if baby cooperates) if we're having a boy or a girl! We're so excited!! Until then I've been searching for a little nursery inspiration.

We already bought a crib. It was used from craigslist. We got it for $40!!! It's a jenny lind crib, just like the one I slept in as a baby. The one we bought is stained wood, but I'm planning on painting mine. The thought on paint right now is white, but that could totally change after Thursday.

I'm also pretty set on the paint color for the room. Most of our house is "silver sage" from Restoration Hardware. I think it's my favorite paint color of all time. I could really use it everywhere and be happy. The main mode of thinking behind this, is that when it comes time to sell our house (which is very tiny, and hopefully this will happen sooner than later) we won't have to repaint the room, since it basically flows with the rest of our house.

I'm meeting my Mom in b'ham this weekend to start looking at fabric, but let's be honest I've been looking at fabric for several months now. AND!! I found out my favorite fabric store extended it's 40% off sale from 1/24 until 1/31! I almost hugged the sales lady when she told me that last week!

For now here's a couple of inspiring nurseries I've seen lately.

favorite things (while preggo)

Since being pregnant there have been a few things that I have found REALLY helpful.

Such as this...

night cream
My skin is SO dry! And the winter winds do not help at all, but since I started using this every night, things seem to have MUCH improved!

Also, these..

salad
I'm very happy to be craving salads! I always worried I would get pregant and crave all things bad for me (and I do realize there's still plenty of time for that), but for now these seem to satisfy most of my cravings. Also, at 16 weeks I've only gained 5 lbs. So I think my salad eating/craving is working! PTL!

And these are REALLY helpful!

Of course, my sense of smell is hightened! And these help keep my WHOLE house smelling perfectly wonderful! Even stinky boys, old dogs, and food seem to be overpowered by these candles.

Happy Monday!

Nursing School

Next week Eric starts nursing school. We are both SO excited and a little scared. Eric doesn't just want to stop with his RN, but continue on in his education and be CRNA. This means he has to do REALLY well in school so that we have some options when it comes to grad school.

He's really excited to go back to Belmont. They have a great nursing program, and they have the option of the "fast track" which gets him in and out of school in 4 semesters! So he will be an RN May 2011.

I think Eric will make a GREAT nurse. He has one of the most level personalities. He stays SO calm in every situation (except Ohio State football :)). He's also really caring and loves to talk to strangers. I hope that all his future patients leave the hospital feeling really cared for by Eric. He's very hopeful that he can use his nursing in the mission field to go on lots of mission trips in the future.

Eric is such a hardworker. I know the Lord will bless his efforts.

Campbell Update.

Thanks everyone for your prayers! Campbell had a biopsy yesterday and it turned out that the mass was encapsulated mucus from the bacterial infection. They drained it and she's been on some serious antibiotics. They are hopeful that she can leave the hospital tomorrow! We are all so thankful that it wasn't something more serious.

One Year

Sunday Eric and I celebrated our one year anniversary! We were really excited to head to Atlanta for a night to stay here and eat here!

Remember this guy?

kevin

He is the chef at Woodfire. It was such a WONDERFUL experience. When we made our reservations a while back we told them it was our anniversary, so when we sat down at our table the waiter walked over and busted open a bottle of champagne! (I had only one sip, after our sweet toast). Our food was delicious. Eric kept saying all day, "I don't care how much more it is, I want beef." So we ordered the beef loin to share, and a couple of first courses to share as well. After dinner we went to cafe intermezzo to eat dessert.

It was just such a wonderful way to celebrate a year of marriage. We kept laughing about how next year we'll need a babysitter to get out and celebrate year two!

Thanks, Eric, for being such a wonderful husband and leader of our family. Your patience and love towards me is so humbling. You are so full of integrity and I am so blessed to be your wife. I hope if this little baby is a boy he turns out to be just like his dad! :)

**Update on Campbell: She's having a biopsy this afternoon. The doctors at Children's are thinking it has to do with the bacterial infection, but we'll know more after the biopsy.

Please Pray...

Please be in prayer for my little niece, Campbell. She's been in the hospital for about a week now. She had a terrible runny nose while we were all down in Montgomery for Christmas. The day we left her right eye was starting to swell, but we all assumed it had to do with her sinuses. The next morning they woke up and that same eye was swollen shut. They were all still at my mom's in Montgomery, so they called a doctor we know and took her by to see him. He said she had a bacterial infection and they should take her to the ER. While in the ER they ran many tests and did a CAT scan. The CAT scan results returned and showed she had a mass behind her left eye (the opposite one that was swollen). The doctor said it might be linked to the bacterial infection, so they would just keep her in the hospital for a few more days (on lots of meds) and wait for the swelling in the other eye to go down and then do another CAT scan. Today was the day of the "other" CAT scan and it came back showing the same mass behind her left eye. They are now in the process of going to the Children's Hospital in Birmingham for a second opinion. If the CAT scan results come back and the doctor in Bham suggests they go forward with the biopsy that will most likely take place tomorrow. Please pray that the mass is nothing, just linked to the infection and that Campbell's surgery goes well tomorrow. Pray for the doctors, nurses, and anyone else involved in the biopsy process. Pray for my sister, her husband, Brian and little baby Adeline (who by the way is being a fantastic little new born, it's like God just grants new babies extra patience during trying times like this). Pray for my mom who's taking care of Adeline, while my sister and her husband are with Campbell in the hospital.
