GIRL!!

We were shocked to say the least. Since finding out I was pregnant we were SURE it was a boy. It seemed too easy for it to be a girl. Seeing that my sister has 2 girls and Eric's sister has a girl, we knew we wouldn't be so fortunate to get to inherate all the clothes we could ever need, plus some. Also, my mom says baby gender comes in cycles, and everyone I knew had a girl this past fall, and everyone I know that's pregnant now (which is about 14 people and counting) are all having boys. So, of course, that means we're in the boy cycle, and I would naturally follow suit.

We went in for our ultrasound at 8am. We stepped into the dim lit room and began the process of seeing our little baby. The ultrasound technitian spent 20 minutes showing us EVERYTHING but those important little parts down there. I knew it was important to make sure baby was healthy, but was REALLY anxious to see those little boy parts. FINALLY...she asked us if we wanted to know the sex, we both screamed "YES!" She zoomed down to that area, and said, "well I'll let you guys take a guess." We both looked stunned as we uttered the word "girl." She immediately confirmed, and tears started streaming down my face (the good kind). Eric had to back up and sit down. Haha! I could just see the dollar figures floating through his mind (all the clothes, the eventual wedding, "I won't be able to say no to my little girl", this is problematic.) It was hilarious! I just laughed at him, and said, "you know you can still teach our little girl to play soccer too." He just grinned. He'll be the best girl daddy! :)

My mother couldn't be happier, it was her dream in life to have a house full of prissy girls. So far Campbell is a priss-pot, and Adeline will probably follow in line. We'll see how our little girl turns out.

The name game has been fun. We were set on a boy name, no questions, we had his name. We had several girl names, and now we're just trying to narrow it down. We're getting there. We keep accidently calling her the same name all the time. It's kind of funny. I'm thinking it won't be too much longer before we'll be certain enough to share.
